Bruce loves education and lifelong learning is part of his DNA. Another passion of Bruce’s is the intersection of creativity and business. Bruce is an entrepreneur at heart and some of his most significant achievements have been launching and growing educational institutions.
He founded the organization that later became ATA college in 1994, in which he divested his ownership in 2010. The following year, he became involved with another school, Florida Academy in Fort Myers, FL. One year later, in conjunction with his partners from Florida Academy, they purchased interest in the Academy for Dental Assisting, in which he then became CEO. The Academy of Dental Assisting’s name changed to MedQuest College in 2012 to incorporate the other medical programs that are offered.
He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and Economics from Indiana University Southeast. When he is not working, Bruce enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Michelle and their two children. The whole family loves taking care of the baby of the family, Sugar, their 5 pound white Maltese.
Mandy Hicks, RT (R), RDMS (AB)(OB/GYN)

Director of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Mandy was born in Kentucky and attended Morehead State University from 2000-2006. While at Morehead, she obtained her Associate of Applied Science. She became registered as a Radiologic Technologist in 2005. Mandy continued at Morehead in their Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and became registered by the ARDMS in 2007. She has worked in the acute care setting since 2007 performing the majority of her practice in high-risk O.B. Mandy was promoted to Caris College’s Director of Education in March of 2017.
Elizabeth Taylor, LPN, CPCT-I, (ACA)
Director of Patient Care Technicians
Elizabeth was born in Southern Indiana and has lived here her whole life. She started working in healthcare in 1995 as a unit secretary and gained experience working in other roles at hospitals over the years. In 2008 she graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a Diploma in Practical Nursing. She has taught medical assisting, phlebotomy, patient care and EKG in postsecondary education for the last several years. In March of 2018 she will graduate from Bellevue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and gardening.
Dr. Donna Rush, DMD, RDH
Director Comprehensive Dental Assisting
Born in Williamsburg, Kentucky, Dr. Rush completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Kentucky, College of Dentistry in 1986. Dr. Rush is a member of the Kentucky Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, and the American Dental Association. She was also a Dental Hygienist and has trained as a Dental Assistant which brings additional skills to her patients in her private dentistry practice.
Dr. Donna Rush began her dental practice in Mount Washington, Kentucky, in 1986 and continues her private practice part time to this day. Realizing the need for well-trained Dental Assistants, in 2005 she developed the dental assisting curriculum for the Caris College. Through her continuous training in dentistry specialties and continuous review of the curriculum, Dr. Rush ensures our curriculum remains, up-to-date, relevant and incorporates up-coming changes in the dental profession before they occur. This ensures our graduates the highest level of technical training in the ever changing world of dentistry.
Jodi Bridges, EDDA
Lead Comprehensive Dental Assisting Instructor
Jodi joined Caris College in 2015 as the Dental Assisting Clinical and Business Instructor after graduating from the Expanded Duties Dental Assisting program at MedQuest College. A lifetime resident of Orleans, Indiana, Jodi started her career in the dental field in 2009, and completed the Dental Assisting program at Vincennes University. Whether Jodi is in front of a classroom training new dental assisting students or providing PRN work at local dental offices when she has spare time, she truly enjoys and is passionate about her career choices and the field she thrives in. She is constantly staying in the know with new procedures, equipment and techniques and enjoys sharing those with her students.
Jodi is married to her best friend Daniel and in their free time they enjoy spending it with family and working outside in the back yard.
Kathy Brewer, RDMS (AB)(BR)(OB/GYN)
Lead Sonography Instructor
Kathy began her career as an XRay Tech in Salem Indiana in 1981. She is registered in OBGYN, Abdomen and Breast and has over 35 years of direct hands on experience. She has worked as a sonographer, trained sonographers on new machines and is now educating our future sonographers at Caris. Kathy said “People think that babies are typically the draw into ultrasound but for me it was a gallbladder!” When asked why, she has said “as an xray tech the gallbladder was not visible so I called in a sonographer who was able to locate the non-visual gallbladder and from there I was hooked!” Kathy has worked in several hospitals in different states as a PRN, was the Director of Fetal Diagnostics for 9+ years at Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY and in Charleston West Virginia. She is a previous owner of a sonography training program in Paoli Indiana and has worked at several OBGYN’s performing ultrasounds for expecting mothers.
Kathy has been a Sonography Instructor for over 10 years and is a major contributor to the very well-educated and trained sonography students that graduate our program. With her knowledge, experience and professionalism our students will stand out against any competing sonography program.
Leeanne Minton, MS, RT(R), RDMS (AB)
Adjunct Faculty – Sonography
Leeanne was born in Indiana, but later moved to Ohio where she earned her Associate of Science Degree in Radiology. She was registered as a Radiologic Technologist in 1997. Leeanne moved back to Indiana working as a radiographer while completing her Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies with a minor in Supervision from Indiana University Southeast. In 2001, Leeanne worked as Coordinator of Clinical Education and instructor of Radiology at a local college. She obtained her Master of Science Degree in Adult Education from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis while also completing a Certificate in Distance Learning focusing on instruction and curriculum design. Leeanne returned to the clinical setting as a Radiographer in cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology. During this period, she returned to school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and became registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 2010.
Aaron Taylor, RN, CPCT-I (ACA)
Registered Nurse (RN), a Certified Patient Care Technician Instructor (CPCI) and Training Center Faculty for the American Heart Association (Louisville Metro EMS training).
Aaron was born in Louisville, KY and moved to Southern Indiana in 1987. He has seven years of active, clinical experience and six years in post-secondary education. In his previous position he was a program chair at a local Allied Health college for Phlebotomy and Patient Care Technician, while performing duties as an instructor and the school’s Laboratory Manager. He is a Registered Nurse (RN), a Certified Patient Care Technician Instructor (CPCI) and Training Center Faculty for the American Heart Association (Louisville Metro EMS training). Aaron received his nursing license in 2006 after attending IVY Tech Community College of Indiana. He is currently attending Indiana University Southeast to obtain his Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Katie Wilson, Admissions Advisor with Caris College joined our team in October 2017. Katie is a graduate of Indiana University Southeast earning a BA in Communications in May 2001. In 2003 she began Transition to Teaching at Indiana Wesleyan University. Katie completed the program in 2005 earning a graduate certificate in Elementary Education and receiving her Professional Educator’s License after passing all credentialing assessments. Most recently, she was accepted into Indiana Wesleyan’s Graduate Counseling Program to pursue a degree in school and academic counseling. Katie has completed coursework in Abnormal Psychology and Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions. Although she is a very busy individual with children of her own, she hopes to earn her Master’s Degree in the future.
Upon graduating with her BA, Katie first worked as a Community Support Specialist at Rauch Inc. Her experience at Rauch sparked an interest in education and helping other’s reach their goals. She has taught in public and private schools, both elementary and middle school, for the past several years. Katie has been awarded The Most Outstanding Student award by IUS as well as a nomination to receive the Imagination Award in 2000 for her work with adults with developmental disabilities in the community. When Katie is not working, she enjoys reading historical fiction, attending her children’s athletic and theater events, spending time with her husband, yoga and fitness, and traveling the United States!
Marketing Coordinator and Admissions Advisor
Katie Casper joined Caris College in October 2017 in a unique, dual role as the Marketing Coordinator and Admissions Advisor.
She attended college at Indiana University Southeast and graduated in May 2017 earning a BA degree in Multimedia Journalism with a minor in communications and public relations.
Prior to coming to Caris College, Katie was involved in multiple positions on the IU Southeast campus. One of these roles include Co-Editor-In-Chief of The Horizon, IU Southeast’s student paper and media organization.
During her time at IUS, Katie also worked as a receptionist in the office of Campus Life. This gave her the opportunity to meet and talk with new and current students regularly. Katie was also involved in many campus life activities, including helping build and create a student organization, and the Peer Mentoring Program.
In May 2017, Katie was awarded the Indiana University Southeast Outstanding Journalism Student Award for the social science program.
When she is not working Katie loves spending time with her friends, family and boyfriend. She enjoys going to the movies, traveling and enjoying the local atmosphere, places and events in the Southern Indiana/Louisville Area. In her spare time Katie also enjoys freelancing in all areas of the multimedia journalism field.
Katie’s favorite thing about Caris College is the friendly people and dedication of the staff and students. She looks forward to starting her career here and working in the marketing and admissions departments.
Regina was born and still lives in Louisville, KY. She has been working in education for the past 20 years. In her 20 years she has held many different positions in education, she has been a receptionist, testing center manager, front desk manager, operations manager and registrar – just to name a few. She’s the type of person you can go to with a question and she can either answer it or connect you to the correct person you need. She is also a graduate of Spencerian College.
Amber joined Caris College with 10 plus years of marketing and advertising experience in May 2016. While attending college to become a Medical Assistant in 2001, she was hired as a marketing assistant for a local company. After completing her externship and graduating she realized her passion was in Marketing/Advertising. Having experience as a medical assistant and in marketing will help Caris College better position themselves in the Indiana market. Amber spends her free time watching her son play baseball all over the region and enjoying quality time with her daughter and husband.
Kristin moved to Louisville from Massachusetts in 2004 and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2008. Prior to joining us here at Caris, Kristin worked as a receptionist and a personal assistant in the medical and insurance fields. As the school’s administrative assistant, Kristin does whatever is necessary to keep things running as smoothly as possible and free up the rest of the staff to focus on what’s most important: our students.
In her free time, Kristin enjoys sewing, exercising, and going on adventures with her friends.
